PROFILE
My cello looks a bit dark and the thick wood makes it robust. I haven't change anything except for strings, but basically the condition is fine.
C and G have pretty rich sounds but D is not quite good. I wish if it had a better quality at high range...
SHOP
I bought it at a shop named Artisan House in Meguro, Tokyo. Its home office is located in Kobe and the meister go around. There's a good deal of stocks in the cosy room and the shop assistant gives us a kind advice. You can also find violin and viola. Map and the address are .
BOWS
I have two bows; one is cheap and another is better. The cheap one is easy to make sounds but a bit weak. The second bow has a quite good quality and nice combination with my cello. To choose a proper bow is absolutely important.
FAVORITE STRINGS
I've tried dozens of stirngs and my favorite is Obligato by Pirastro whose core is nylon. The sound is rich and soft. What's better is the quality lasts longer than gut.
A : Steel/Chrome \4,100
D : Nylon/Chrome \4,500
G : Nylon/Tungsten \6,600
C : Nylon/Tungsten \9,800

FEATURES
All in all, the sound is not showy but strong. It's unlikely to bring sound far forward, but I like the balance. Although I'd tried a couple of cellos before I decided and had some advices, I think the important thing is whether you like it or not. If you like it, that's the best one.
